What Is a 6x9 Window Envelope?
A 6x9 window envelope is a 6 x 9 inch envelope with a clear window on the front. Our 6x9 showcase envelopes use a large front window, so the recipient sees the address, a document or a printed piece the moment the envelope arrives. Both styles close with a gummed flap.
The 6 x 9 size sits between a #10 business envelope and a 9x12 envelope. It holds a half-letter page (5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches) flat, or a full letter page folded once.
Which 6x9 Window Envelope Should You Choose?
- 6x9 white showcase envelopes: a clean, professional look for statements, invoices and business documents.
- 6x9 black showcase envelopes: a standout look for announcements, promotions and premium mailings.
What Can You Mail in a 6x9 Window Envelope?
- Statements and invoices: fold a letter page once and let the address show through the window.
- Half-letter documents: forms, flyers and notices at 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches travel flat.
- Display mailings: cards, photos and printed pieces the recipient sees before opening.
How to Line Up the Address With the Window
Print the recipient address on your document so it sits behind the window once the page is inside the envelope. Fold and insert one test piece, slide it up, down and to the sides, and check that the full address stays visible. Our window envelope alignment guide walks through the setup step by step.
